Website Hosting Options Overview
USC offers a trio of Website Options at no cost: Sites at USC (Hosted WordPress), Google Sites, and SharePoint Sites. For public-facing sites, Sites at USC is a solution that works in most cases, as it provides options for sites that are compliant with the USC Identity Program and are Digitally Accessible. For internal sites, the SharePoint Sites Option is recommended. There is no Viterbi IT hosting option.
For more information on the USC options, visit the Website Solutions for the USC Community Page on the Web Management Standards SharePoint.
If these options do not meet your needs, you can choose to use a third-party for your site. If you choose to use a third-party web hosting or web design service provider for your website, you will need to comply with the following Web Management Policies & Standards.
If you would like to learn more about Sites @ USC or start the process, please contact Andreas Tillmann tillmann@usc.edu, providing your full lab name, type of content presented, and what you want your URL to be. The standard url for all the new CP sites is “sites.usc.edu/xyz”. Please let us know what you want the “xyz” part to be.
