This will put the host/server in USC's DMZ. This is useful if the host is a webserver or will be used to collaborate with researchers from other institutions that will not have a USC Net ID to access USC's VPN.
For this request, please provide the answers by submitting a completed form found below. Your request will be forwarded to USC Network Security to determine if your hosts fulfills requirements to be placed into the DMZ or rDMZ and obtain a public IP.
Host registrations are per building. If you decide to move your host that's been registered for one building to another, the host will need to be registered for the new building it is going to. If you do not register your host, it will receive an IP in the unsecured part of USC Network as if it was never registered.
Many users have asked if network printers could be placed on the USC wireless network. The short answer to this is no as there is currently no way to register a host to the USC wireless network.
If you have any questions on any of the above, please email engrhelp@usc.edu.
