Wireless
The USC wireless network is a private network, accessible from outdoor common areas on USC campuses, libraries, auditoria, campus eateries, and the University Village Food Court. As part of the Viterbi School of Engineering (VSoE) infrastructure improvement project during the summer of 2008, USC wireless network coverage was expanded to include all VSoE-administered spaces. USC Information Technology Services has recently undergone an upgrade of the existing wireless network infrastructure on campus. The new hardware will provide for better coverage and connectivity.
Non-USC users will receive limited access to the network for web browsing and email. USC account holders should log in via the USC VPN for additional access to the network.
Users are required to acknowledge the university's terms of use once a week. USC faculty, students, and staff have the option to register their computer in order to avoid being required to acknowledge the university's terms of use every week.
