VMware IT Academy Program
VMware IT Academy provides the following for educational use at no charge as of 8/12/24.
- VMware Fusion Pro for Mac
- VMware Fusion Pro for Windows
- VMware Workstation Pro for Mac
- VMware Workstation Pro for Windows
Who are eligible?
Students, staff, and faculty are all eligible to download VMware Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro at no cost under a Personal Use License. The free version can be used on personal machines as well as educational lab and research environments.
A commercial license will be required only if the Workstation or Fusion software is running in critical and/or production environments. A commercial license is also required if software support is necessary.
What technical support is available?
Software is provided to qualified users with a commercial license. Users may not purchase support services from VMware associated with software licenses obtained via the VMware Academic Software Licensing Program.
- Viterbi IT does not provide technical support for VMware products obtained via the program.
- Viterbi IT does not troubleshoot or support problems with software installations, errors while using the software, or development with the software.
- Viterbi IT does not support problems with operating VMware software on personal computers.
